sandustry infinite water

Build renewable Water, not a demo glitch.

The current official route creates Snow, melts it into Steam and captures the Rain. Old steam-duplication footage is not required.

Official loop: Cryoblaster creates unlimited Snow → heat makes Steam → Steam reaches the sky → Rain returns as Water.

Requirements

The current Research page places the Cryoblaster in Tier 2 at a cost of 1,000 Gold. It produces unlimited Snow. You also need a heat source, a vertical route for Steam and a basin positioned to catch returning Rain.

Build order

  1. Construct a deep, sealed Water collection basin.
  2. Create a vertical Steam shaft above or beside it.
  3. Add angled walls near the sky to redirect Rain toward the basin.
  4. Produce Snow with the Cryoblaster in a controlled heating chamber.
  5. Heat the Snow so it becomes Steam.
  6. Watch the entire cycle once and close every escape path before increasing output.

Design the Rain collector

Steam rises, but Rain falls according to the physical space above the factory. A wide catchment is safer than a narrow chimney. Guide the falling liquid toward a depression so it settles before the 45-second loose-droplet evaporation rule removes it.

Keep the Rain collector isolated from exposed Sand and Seeds. Renewable production is wasted if the output is consumed the moment it lands.

Move Water to production

Use a Pump, Pipes and Liquid Vents to send Water from the central basin to Wet Sand and Wet Seed chambers. Give each demand area its own pipe network and place its Vent above the desired fill level.

Lumling alternative

The official Beginner's Guide notes that enough Lumlings in one location can create a small, constant Water supply. This is useful as a supplemental source, but the Snow–Steam–Rain system is the clearer scalable build.

Old “water duplication” videos

Some demo videos repeatedly boiled existing Water and observed occasional increases after condensation. Treat that as historical footage, not the foundation of a current guide. The official renewable method depends on unlimited Snow generation, not a random duplication chance.

Troubleshooting

  • Steam reaches the sky rather than collecting under a ceiling.
  • The Rain path lands inside the basin.
  • Corner gaps are fully sealed.
  • Loose droplets can reach a depression quickly.
  • No Sand or Seed touches the storage pool.
  • The Pump and Vent heights are correct.
